WESTWOOD, Mass.—After winning a pair of regular season titles and one league tournament championship, Babson College finished fourth when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released the Presidents Cup men's standings on Wednesday afternoon.
The Presidents Cup is an all-sports award presented to the top overall men's and women's programs in the conference and is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during both the regular season and championship play.
Following five consecutive top-three finishes, the Beavers finished with an average of 7.69 points in eight sports. MIT collected its third straight Presidents Cup, while WPI and Springfield College edged the Green and White for second and third place, respectively.
Baseball captured its second consecutive NEWMAC regular season title and followed it up by winning the conference tournament for the second year in a row earlier this month. Lacrosse grabbed a share of its second regular season league title in four years, while track & field claimed an individual title for the third consecutive season at April's conference meet.
Additionally, the cross country program recorded its third straight top-four finish, while the tennis squad advanced to its sixth consecutive NEWMAC Tournament final.
